Our managers lead from the front, spending time on the floor to connect with partners, customers, coach in the moment and identify ways to drive results. Position: Store Manager

 

Overview: As a store manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations of a coffee shop or café. You will lead a team, ensure exceptional customer experiences, and drive business growth. This role requires strong leadership skills, business acumen, and a passion for delivering high-quality products and services.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership:

    • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of baristas and support staff.

    • Set clear expectations, delegate tasks, and provide guidance and support.

    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback for employee development.

    • Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, collaboration, and open communication.

    • Facilitate training programs to enhance employee skills and product knowledge.

  2. Customer Service and Experience:

    • Ensure exceptional customer experiences by maintaining high standards of service.

    • Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints, ensuring prompt resolution and customer satisfaction.

    • Monitor customer flow and service levels, making adjustments to optimize customer experience.

    • Implement strategies to enhance customer loyalty, engagement, and overall satisfaction.

    • Continuously seek customer feedback and implement improvements based on insights.

  3. Operations Management:

    • Oversee day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory management.

    • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and guidelines to optimize efficiency and productivity.

    • Monitor and analyze sales, expenses, and other performance indicators to achieve financial targets.

    • Manage inventory levels, place orders, and ensure product availability while minimizing waste.

    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and food handling guidelines.

  4. Business Development:

    • Develop and execute strategies to drive business growth, increase sales, and maximize profitability.

    • Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competition to identify opportunities for expansion.

    • Implement marketing initiatives to promote the coffee shop, attract new customers, and retain existing ones.

    • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotions, campaigns, and loyalty programs.

    • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and local business partners.

  5. Quality Control and Standards:

    • Maintain high-quality standards for products, cleanliness, and overall store presentation.

    • Monitor and enforce adherence to standard operating procedures and quality control measures.

    • Conduct regular audits to ensure equipment functionality, cleanliness, and maintenance.

    • Address any issues related to product quality, equipment, or supplies promptly and effectively.

    • Implement quality improvement initiatives and provide training on quality standards.

  6. Financial Management:

    • Develop and manage budgets, tracking expenses, and revenue to achieve financial targets.

    • Control labor costs by optimizing scheduling and labor allocation.

    • Monitor and analyze sales data, profit margins, and key performance indicators.

    • Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality and customer experience.

    • Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and variance analysis for senior management.

 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a management role, preferably in the coffee or hospitality industry.

  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with employees, customers, and stakeholders.

  • Business acumen and understanding of financial management principles.

  • Customer-centric mindset, with a focus on delivering exceptional service and building customer loyalty.

  • Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, beverage recipes, and quality control measures.

  • Familiarity with inventory management, cost control, and operational efficiency.

  • Flexibility in working hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Adherence to health and safety regulations and food handling guidelines.
